Pedal Trains
Saturday, December 19, 2009

Hello.
The past few weeks have been hectic.
Well and there's that question of how can one's life be hectic,
in the midst of holidays.

Well,
hectic doesn't have to mean bad.

Went over to CSC for fellowship with the people at Amp.
It's been quite some time since I've met the community,
and it was pleasant getting to see their joyous faces again.

I've been practicing with Newsong Band for quite some time now,
hopefully we'll be prepared for Christmas and all,
hopefully I'll be able to get the instrumentals right.

Howard and Vikkash has been kind enough to lend me their pedals.
So it looks pretty much awesome,
connecting everything altogether.
Well, at least it's almost close to the pedal trains at Amp.

The pedals are fun really.
Like you push a button and a whole new effect comes out.
Like there's delay, there's distortion, there's overdrive, there's wah and etc.
But as cool as it seems,
having all the effects at once,
doesn't feel quite right,
it doesn't sound quite right at all.

Whilst stepping against one of those pedals,
the buttons "click" in place agreeably.
The effect I wanted is now turned on.

I like how life's very much like music.
It goes on and on,
much like a story.
It flows, it reaches the climax,
and comes to a resolution.
While life goes on,
there are many options to choose from
and many paths to take.

Much like the newfound pedals for my guitar,
choosing the right settings/path/options,
will produce the most desirable melody.

..And well,
this has led me wondering.
Have I been choosing the correct options?
Christmas is coming,
and there, there's a resolution.
