Well, here's a story i picked up today.

I heard it from a priest at church today.

In the past, there were people captured and brought to the Nazi concentration camp.

Well, there is there was this man named Maximilian Kolbe.

He was caught by the German and later brought to the concentrated camp.

This was a place where people were kept as prisoners, where they will wait each day just to die.

So there was one day,

when the soldiers came in and they started to choose who to be persecuted on that day.

And they went on, "you, you, you and you, you as well ... ...Let's go"

Well at that very point in time Maximilian wasn't one of the chosen few,

but he stood up,

and told the soldiers, "Take me instead of that young man."

The soldiers were suprised, and they looked at him,

they asked,"Who is this polish pick who's talking to me?"

Well, Maximilian didn't say his name of any or that sort,

because his name was not all that mattered,

so he gave his reply,

"I am a catholic priest."

In the end, he was taken instead of the young man to be persecuted.

Well, there wasn't any miracle or anything or that sort,

on that day, Maximilian was persecuted and killed.

Not too long ago,

when pope John paul the II was still here,

Maximilian was ordained as a saint because of what he did.

And on that very day where the pope actually did it,

the young man at that time, who was already very old then,

was present in the crowd.

Anyhow, i'm not here to preach on my blog or any of that sort,

it's just a story which i find really meaningful that really shows a courage of a human being.

At that point in time, Maximilian did not even know that young man,

he could have lived just like how that young man managed to survive.

It's all about making sacrifices for others.

I guess i always make things sound so Cliche`,

but our world today really has changed.

We are selfish, we feel that we are indifferent, we feel that we're of of our importance.

Look at how the scientist are researching about the Big Bang theory and things like that.

I went to BBC news online to check it out and stuff like that,

and saw comments such as,"they're finally going to prove between science and god"

$4 billion, if I'm not mistaken was spent on this project alone.

How many people are out there, starving? The homeless and the sick?

And here humans are, spending the money,

to collide two small protons and observe what's going to happen in one second.

It's going to be an amazing discovery, awesome that fix many theories of the universe,

Especially the theory about mankind, being selfish in this world.

We keep on waiting,

waiting on the world to change.
