Isn't it beautiful?
Sunday, September 21, 2008
Sunday.

Woke up this morning to realise i fell asleep the previous night.
It was already quite late then, so had to move immediately if not i would be late for tuition.
Chemistry tuition today was kind of fun.
Did Cedar Girls EOY Paper 2006,
it was really great when the teacher started saying the answers for MCQs,
even for the structured questions,
some seemed kinda tough,
but i understood almost all of them.

Didn't have toast, tea and eggs like i usually did.
Decided to take a walk around the huge mall,
ended up buying pastries to eat.
There was this chicken pie thing at half price so i got that one,
and i bought apple turnover as well,
my favorite since i was way young.

Physics class was really boring,
for one, i didn't feel like thinking cause i was really distracted,
another reason was also because i hadn't revised physics like i did for chemistry.
But i guess lesson did pass quite fast.

Today really wasn't anything much, my whole day's gone just like that.
Though i must say, i feel that i'm learning something meaningful in church nowadays.
Other than cathchism classes which i'd rather teach than be in it,
celebrating mass has been becoming more and more special.

Today as my dad drove into the church and i looked out the window,
near the fountain there would be this black stand about 1.5 metres tall.
He had a few circular candles in his hands,
and a lighter in the other hand.
as he placed the candle down at one level of the stand,
he lit it up with his lighter.
One by one he lights the candles up.

Well mass started and there was the procession in.
There was only 3 altar servers and i could help cause i was in bermudas.
Decided to ask Martin if i was allowed to help through text  messaging.
Went up eventually and it felt really weird serving mass in shorts.

As i saw so many faces and people below in the pews,
it makes me wonder what people really pray for.
Are they praying for something they want to get?
Are they praying for a better life?
Are they praying for someone?
Are they hoping, are they dreaming.
When the candle is lit and placed outside,
it will burn and last for maybe a few hours,
after that, it is taken away and discarded.
What significance does it actually make..?

Humans, naturally.
We may know that we may never be able to get something,
but it will never kill us to hope or to dream big,
and be ambitious for once.
There is always that light of hope that's lit,
that flickers in the wind, but still goes strong though small.
It's hope that keeps us going,
it's faith leads us through the mist.

I remember once looking at the small candle during easter if i'm not mistaken.
It was really cool then, with the night breeze and everything.
It was really quiet with everyone praying.
And i thought.. how beautiful that small little flame was.

We're all living in the same world afterall,
it's still the same night sky, isn't it?
